Hi Sharon,

Thank you for your support, and no, there is no connection between my non-fiction and fiction - only that I’m the writer . I’ve got another good friend who is of the same mind that I should keep the two sites separate. I’m thinking long and hard about the progress, while still focusing on actually writing/revising and honing my work in progress (wip), so I’ll keep you posted. And see you soon at the next TRW meeting.

Hi Tanya,
I understand the dilemma of trying to do a marketing program for fiction and non-fiction. Is there a connection between your work in both areas? If the idea of a second website (linked to the first one) doesn’t work, would you be able to split your home page so that people could go to either area of your site?
Just a thought.
I know you’ll work something out.

It all looks good to me, Tanya. I can see where some of the testimonials say “go, go, go.” You do so much it makes me tired while I sit and procrastinate. I’m busy, just not doing the writing and pushing I should be doing. I keep saying it will change, but then don’t do anything about it. Soon, but I’ve said that before.
The site looks great with lots more in it than mine.

Thank you Shlomit, your comment is very helpful and insightful, especially as I consider you a great freelance journalist and a new friend through my Jolly Good Writers Group. I appreciate your having shared your article you’d written on Barry Shainbaum, as you had known I’d be just as inspired by his story. Thanks to you I met Barry and founded yet another great new friendship and inspirational person.

You’re right about sharing, its just getting the balance of positivity and really helping others; that’s what I’ll concentrate on as well. Thanks again.

Great job, Tanya! I enjoyed listening to your interview. You seemed so at ease, and you kept your answers interesting and to the point. Also, you got to cover so many aspects of your life, and I got to learn more about you.

In regards to your speaking about your experience with cancer, I think that this is helpful in that it’s made you a stronger person and led you to various areas of your life in a good way. Others can learn from your experience and how you handled your battle with the disease and how it transformed your life. Barry Shainbaum had to deal with the same contemplation in terms of bringing the challenges he had faced in his life to the public, but he’s been able to touch so many lives by being open about that.

I hope this interview helps you further your career.

Thank you so much Cherylin. I hope my sharing helps others, but I’m also wondering if I’m too open sometimes…. like my 12 year old doesn’t wish me to mention anything about my bout with breast cancer, and I’m having to take that seriously. What do you think? Anyone?

Congratulations on your blog. This is my first time writing for one.

In reply to your question on my experience as a contest chair, it was exhilarating. As a first time contest chair, I was a little apprehensive but our President Rubi Talavera gave me the confidence to take it on as a challenge, and with guidance from both Rubi and Patricia Rhul (our past President), I enjoyed the experience.

Yes, there was quite a bit of work behind the scene but it was worth all the effort. I improved in my diplomacy and tact as well as my time management skills. The team support was fantastic, all in all a great experience. I would recommend it to everybody at Toastmasters.

Hi Tanya,
Nice to meet you in a cyber space.
I did not think about the contest speech until VP membership and my mentor recommended to challenge it.
To get rid of my nervousness, I thought over and over what the purpose is to speak.
My conclusion was to enjoy delivering my thought and sharing it with audiences.
Isn’t it same as you think? - glad
I enjoyed my challenge and confirmed the support from toastmasters.
It was a wonderful experience.
